I am thrilled to be teaching and coaching at Issaquah High School.  This is my seventh year as a teacher and coach.  I attended Western Washington University earning degrees in social studies and physical education.  Fitness is my passion, so I consider myself lucky to spread that joy to my students and athletes.  When I am not coaching and teaching, I enjoy hiking, yoga, running, traveling and spending time with my friends, family and pets.  I look forward to coaching the Lady Eagles basketball team this year and am counting down the days until we face Skyline.  Currently my best friend, who I grew up playing basketball with, is the head girls basketball coach of the Lady Spartans.  We are looking forward to the competitiveness on the court as well as the comradery we are striving to create off the court.

I grew up on asmall island called Mc Neil Island in Steilacoom Washington.  I went to Steilacoom High school and played Varsity basketball for four years as well as played soccer and ran track.  After high school I played college basketball at Northwest University for four years while I earned a degree in Psychology. Towards the end of my student athlete career I began coaching. I’ve been coaching now for 7 years with a variety of different age groups. For the past 5 years I have been coaching with Issaquah’s youth girls basketball program (IGBA) in addition to coaching at Bear Creek High school and a few different AAU programs. After college I spent some time teaching preschool in Kirkland and now I currently work at an elementary school in the Bellevue school district as a PBIS specialist (Positive behavior Interventionspecialist).

Thisis my first-year teaching mathematics and coaching at Issaquah High School. I worked and coached at a middle school in Bellevue for the past two years, and am thrilled to be working with high school students. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, go Dawgs! And my Master’s in teaching math and science at Seattle Pacific University. I have traveled to 11 countries, and I plan to visit more in the next couple years. Locally, I like to get out on the trails to run and hike. I’m looking forward to an awesome season and working with a great group of student athletes.
